Internationally acclaimed artist Richard Serra adds the astonishing EAST-WEST/ WEST-EAST sculptures to the desert landscape, taking the art to the people. Richard set a new standing art of flat iron that is about 15m (49 feet) tall has been unveiled in Qatar’s desert 60km outside of Doha at the Brouq Nature Reserve near Zekreet. The massive flat span 1km from the area, and “is set in a natural corridor shaped by gypsum plateaus.
The Bir- Zekreet limestone escarpment is desert bleach; the blustery has seductive rocks, revealing pillars, big limestone mushroom and weird shapes as it projects from cliffs EAST-WEST/ WEST-EAST BY RICHARD SERRA – SCULPTURES
